May Newsletter

purpletulips.pngWelcome to May!  I can’t believe we are nearing the end of the school year already!  What a fun year this has been, Janine and I have fallen in love with our Zebra’s this year.  It will be hard to send these precious little one’s on to new adventures in the Fall.

First things first….Mom’s and Muffins is scheduled for Wednesday,  May 5th from 9 am to 9:30 am.  We will enjoy a muffin, lemonade and coffee in the picnic area, some fun on the playground and finish up at 9:30 with a quick story in our Zebra class.

We have begun lots of review in the Zebra class. We are reviewing numbers 1-20, alphabet letters sounds and print daily.  We are cycling through lessons on rhyming, opposites, sequencing, colors and shapes, name printings and clocks.  We have begun to work on beginning and ending sounds in preparation for beginning reading. Our theme will be “Farm Animals” at the beginning of the month and we will finish with “Sea Life.”  We will begin planning the end of the year party, the kids help out with this, so it is always interesting!

Thank you to all of our Zebra families for attending the Open House. What a fun evening it was!  The Zebra’s (and their teachers) had a great time making and displaying all of their projects that they had been working so hard on.  The children took a lot of pride in their classroom.
